Chino Valley Ranchers have been producing high-quality eggs in Southern California since 1953. This family-owned farm has been passed down through generations and has significantly grown since its humble origin.
I was brought in to help bring some personality and life to the brand through the company website. Egg companies are typically regarded as plain commodities, as homogenous products. I added a more playful tone and voice to the existing brand through expressive design and copy.
Role: Creative Direction, Design, Copywriting
Quality and "family-owned" are primary brand pillars – and the definition of "family" extends to the happy hens that roam freely in green pastures. These are the heroes of the design element and content features in the design. Additionally, I utilized texture and distressed, weathered, elements to convey the history and real "farm" aspects of their business.
To call more attention to data and details I employed an infographic style, utilizing the chicken silhouette as a reference to the free-range hens and continued the textural elements for consistency.
To break up sections and content blocks, I incorporated patterns and shapes that convey the hero of the brand, the hens, and the eggs. Playful typography and graphic elements add interesting visual elements to the content-heavy pages.
Additionally, I extended the updated site design and Comet Eggs product to their distribution channels.
